I cannot believe how shitty an ODer I’ve become. I never write. But I do check in. I rarely note. I’m sorry.

I have to move to another office at work. No, I did not get promoted…they are simply shifting people around to make some more room. Pain in the ass, but it’s also forcing me to do a little spring cleaning. Which in turn forces me to procrastinate. Hence an entry!

The move is supposed to take place tomorrow (edit: um, now today…I didn¡¦t finish this entry yesterday)(later: edit #2…I have moved already). I won’t be ready (edit: but I AM!). But I have to be (:)). The good news is I’ll have a window!! Well, sort of. I will be able to look out my door and see the outside. Aaaah, natural light! Seriously, you gotta love the little things…they make alllllll the difference in the world.

I was traveling solo the week before last. I so missed traveling solo. It’s a luxury I don’t often get anymore, so I enjoyed as much of it as I could, considering the travel delays and cooooold weather in Montreal (I know, I’m a wuss when it comes to chilly weather in June!). It was a quickie…three cities, four days. But I got to have dinner with the beautiful and talented [Edina Devine], and that rocked my face…I’ve met her twice now, and each time I do I am always blown away by what a cool person she is. Not only is her diary a BIG fave of mine, but I wish she lived closer so I could see her and soak in her insight more than once a year. But dinner was mmmm, delicious, and we split a bottle of bubbles. And we drank Grand Marnier for dessert. And all was right with the night..even though I had to be back at my hotel at the stroke of midnight because I had a car service picking me up at 4:30AM to take me to the airport.

I played a bit of hooky last Friday with The Grrrrr, and even though I had a serious case of the guilts for not going back into the office, I did manage to get a BUNCH of work done over the weekend. I was really worried that Boss (my direct, not Boss Party Pants) was going to have a major problem with the fact that I was out of the office on Friday, but when I showed her everything I’d done, she was more than happy. Oh, the unnecessary stress I put myself through!

Things with The Grrrrrr are going okay. I just ordered this book at the recommendation of more than one person. Sometimes I think he and I are almost talking too much. I don’t know. Or we have this weird role-reversal thing going on. I’m curious to read this book because I have this sneaking suspicion that I’m going to fit more of the male role and he’s going to fit more of the female. I say that for various reasons: his sensitivity and my stonewalling as one big example. He leaps before he looks and follows his emotions while I am the extremely cautious one.

One thing I do know…he is good for me. My fears can sometimes be paralyzing. These “risks” I’m taking are forcing me out of my comfort zone. Good? God, I hope so! Regardless, they exhilarate me (and scare me out of my wits!). Never, ever boring. I don¡¦t think it ever will be. That’s good, right? Right!

Did you know? I’m finally becoming a cook? The Grrrrr is a most excellent chef, and I’m falling in love with being his right-hand woman in the kitchen! He loves to grill, and I’m fast becoming an expert in side dishes: salad-making, easy desserts, sauces, etc. etc.

And I LOVVVVE that he loves to entertain! Do you know how much I’ve always wanted to host parties only to hold myself back because everything wasn’t “perfect” in the loft or that I wasn’t a great cook or that I don’t have the proper stemware? What matters to The Grrrrrr is the experience and the sharing and the friendship. Um…hello? Why couldn’t I think of that? I was so caught up in that paralyzing perfection that I never had people over?

I am so in love with that imperfect man! Yes, I’m still scared. But every day I’m more and more dedicated to making this work.

Okay. I gotta run for now. Gotta get the paws polished.

Hey! I’m gonna post photos very soon in a faves-only entry!!!
