A quickie while I have some morning coffee. Grrrr wants me to wake him at 6. In a way I think he’s lucky to get to work from home, but in another, I wonder if I could handle it. I think I’d be tempted to sleep and sleep and sleeeeep. But then again, that’s not really like me cuz I’ve already been up (5am) and worked out! So take that, suckas!

Had an amazing time with Best Bud and her family on Saturday night. They were having an impromptu birthday party for her nephew. Tons of kids, BB’s parents, Matt and Greg, brothers, sister, in-laws…fun! I did soooooo good with the booze, even when (especially when) BB and Terri kept trying to refill my glass! I had one glass of wine and the rest was Pellegrino (LOVE sparkling water).

Grrrrr was grumpy because we’d just had a big “discussion” (see previous entry if you wonder what about), but he snapped out of it when all the kids wanted to hang out with him and play UNO. He is soooooo good with kids, that Grrrr. Do you see why I look at him in that way? Everyone got so loud and obnoxious (read: BB’s SIL, Terri…quite the amazing drinker–the kind I’d like to be–happy and with hilariously dry humor), we invented the game, SilUNO (Silent UNO), which most of us did fairly well with (except for Terri the loudmouth, who we forced to keep picking cards). Perhaps you had to be there.

Best Bud gave me the most GORGEOUS necklace for my belated birthday. Oh my GOD..she got it in her travels to India. I’ll have to take a picture and post because just describing it won’t do justice. Basically, it’s a medallion encrusted with about 150 garnets. See? I can’t really describe. Must photograph.

And even though it was really rainy yesterday, and Grrrr and I were both sorta in the dumps, the day was warm and snuggly. After church, we stayed inside the rest of the day, drinking coffee (I’m finally back on the caffeine!), lovin’ on each other, talking to the kids overseas (so great–Daughter is learning English in school, Son is too young yet and only speaks German…..but I’m just barely learning words and making them laugh with my broken sentences) reading, playing around on the computer. I ran out to get more coffee, milk, and Chinese food (mmmmmm!), and we watched Desperate Housewives and Bros&Sissies from the warmth of our bundled-up bed. You have to see how this loft is set up. You can practically see the TV from anywhere in the open space. We got this great swivel thing (super expensive, so it better be AWESOME, right?). Anyway. Lovely sluggy evening!

And now? It’s time to get going! 6am and time to wake the Love Monster!!

(…ugh, and back to the office…grumble)
