So [CN] just left, and wouldn´t you know it, the SUN just came out!! I know it´s supposed to be rainy again at the volcano, but I also know that this won´t last the whole time, and actually, it kinda rocks. [CN] and I had chosen different activities for yesterday, and the canopy tour was absolutely amazing…the rain actually made it VERY jungle-y and felt like a total adventure!! You could see that we were zipping right through the clouds (hence, the cloud forest!).
Our guides slash spotters were the most handsome, super-hot, super funny Costa Rican cuties…so flirty with the ladeees and so competitive with the guys. It was hilarious. And the wetness from the rain on the dirty ziplines made all of our faces muddy and splattery. I zipped off one of the lines onto a platform in the trees, and the guy who caught me with his able hands looked right into my eyes and said, ¨You have the most beautiful eyes…but such dirty freckles!¨
*melt* (I know, in a weird way, but melty all the same)
I have never been so waterlogged or felt so grimy since I was a kid.
The bumpy busride back to basecamp (hotel in San Jose) was rather torturous…sitting in wet clothes for a couple of hours, but I tried to shove that into the back of my mind while looking at the amazing photos I took and napping a bit.
And then the hottest, most delicious shower. I´m still warm. I´m glad that [CN] was able to secure the ONLY hairdryer in the whole hotel because now I have warm, blown-dry shoes to wear today (sure that won´t last long, but oh, what a luxury right now!).
My fellow travelers are quite interesting. I´m starting to get to know them, but I honestly am tired of ¨meeting¨people, you know? Going through all of that what-do-you-do bullshit. I truly would be fine just doing the adventures and then chilling and not saying much. But I don´t want to be completely anti-social. Maybe just semi. I´m searching for the right balance.
And now, off to breakfast, then check out and back on a van or bus or something to head out. We are going to attempt a float tour today, but the guide told us last night that the river is way up and quite dangerous. We´ll see. I don´t care…I´m just along for the ride.
I´m sooooo looking forward to the hot springs!
OK. Not sure what the internet will be looking like for the next couple of days, so if you don´t hear from me it wasn´t because I didn´t try. Or maybe it´s because I´m napping!
See you soon!
