I knew I’d spark a few notes when I wrote that last entry. Whooowee, did I get some amazing food for thought! I want to thank you guys for your insight, as always. I don’t really have a follow-up entry at this point because I’m processing it all at the moment. Bottom line is, I appreciate each and every comment, anonynoters not withstanding.
A lot to chew on, my friends and frenemies. Just a couple of thoughts rolling around right now:
1. Need to focus more on my financial/job situation more than anything else right now.
2. Need an outlet for my occasional loneliness. Making a living will certainly help that. The blog. Networking. Other things that are rolling around in my brain that I haven’t even tapped into yet. And yes, I realize that gray days happen every now and then. It’s all good.
3. The rest I’m going to figure out later. I have a lot of conflicting ideas about the dating part and perhaps it’s just all too much right now. I need to prioritize my life, and #1 is definitely TOP priority at the moment (rest assured, I’ll get back to the dating stuff soon enough).
I leave for New York tomorrow. It’s going to be one of my shorter trips (since it’s not funded by a large corporation), but at least I’ll be back to a city that always gets my juices flowing! I’m looking forward to it–a free day and then a day of networking, and then back home, hopefully armed with some good ammo. I hope to make the best of this one.
Need to get several things done today:
— Prep portfolio and make sure I have all the pertinent information together
— Buy boots…I have 2 pair on hold. Need to see which ones are best with what I’m planning to wear (not in my budget, but I’m going to consider it a birthday present to myself).
— Print out passes, resumes, travel documents
— Research companies that will be attending this event
— Gym
— Squeeze in a blog entry?
— Dinner tonight with K. I know, but I haven’t seen him in a while and he wanted to get together to catch up. I haven’t decided whether to end tonight with a little nook-nook (heh, real mature, eh?!) or not. I have to get up insanely early for my flight out tomorrow.
OK. Better roll. Those boots aren’t going to purchase themselves and walk their way into my suitcase!
