PIC OF THE DAY!

Today’s photo prompt is shine. I took this a couple of years ago at a convention in Vegas. Everything’s shiny in Vegas!!

TODAY…

1. Thankful for my friendship with Cindy. She makes me smile–a lot, and I hope I do the same for her.

2. Thankful for all the social events of this month. Even though they can sometimes get overwhelming, they are truly so much fun!

3. Thankful that I get to hear laughter more often than tears lately.

4. Thankful for the wintry nip in the air. It’s crisp and exhilarating.

5. Thankful for my health and the health of my loved ones.

OMG, you guys. I’m starting to feel a little bit like a guy today, considering some of the chatter I’ve been reading here on OD and on Facebook as well. It’s regarding texts. More specifically, un-returned texts. I think I’m beginning to understand the other side of it, and it feels weird.

See, CC likes to text me. A lot more than I like to text him back, and I have a feeling it’s because he is much more interested in me than I am him.

It’s not that he texts super frequently, but he has been texting several times a day, and I’m pretty darn slow answering back because I’m not really up for marathon text seshes with him. Granted, I was a texting FREAK with Text Message Guy, but with CC? No. Not interested.

Damn! You’re not going to believe this! I haven’t been answering his texts, so he just called me. We talked for a while, but I’m in annoyed mode. Weird. So THIS is what it’s like to be doggedly pursued? Hm.

And speaking of DOGS, I think I wrote about Yoga Guy? I don’t remember. Regardless, this is a guy who lives in the building and teaches at the yoga studio here. He used to flirt with me in a huge way…until EXMS put an end to that early in our relationship.

Well, today I rode the elevator with him and we were alone together for maybe 30 seconds, and I’ll be damned if he didn’t LICK HIS LIPS like he was the Big Bad Wolf going in for one of the Three Little Pigs. UGH! It was completely uncomfortable, and now I remember that old feeling and why I told EXMS about him. It’s a shame that Yoga Guy was able to convince EXMS that I was the one doing the flirting, because that is NOT the case. Shame that EXMS believed him. Shame that I’m still writing about EXMS.

Okeeeey dokee. Last night with Cindy was tons of fun. We met in this little up-and-coming arts district that’s fairly close to my place. The air was cold and crisp, but not freezing, and we walked around the galleries and vintage stores and the chocolate place (hee!) and the unbelievable pizza place–the streets were all lit up and the trees were decorated with gorgeous ornaments. It was a beautiful sight!

We went to this gallery and bought a mug that we could take to all the different venues and get a fill of whatever they were serving…wine, hot cider, chocolate, wassail, whatever! It was great fun!

So we wandered the gallery and then the vintage store and watched a jazz band play, and then we went to the brand new chocolate store! What a cool place! The owner has concocted all kinds of variations on the theme and Cindy bought a bunch of dreamy, delicious chocolate (we sampled) for a party (I should have done that for the engagement party I’m attending tonight–damn!).

Then we went to a pizza place which was absolutely phenomenal!! I had NO idea that it was there! I’m so going back ASAP. It would be a great date place. Not only was the food great, but it was all lit up in tiny Christmas lights and there was a good band and the vibe was warm and delicious. I’d love to go there and be flirty all night long!

Our pizza was so good, but we couldn’t finish it all, so we both got to-go boxes and were so excited to have our lunches for today all figured out. It would have been perfect if we’d remembered to take them with us, but we BOTH forgot. *sigh*

After our dinner, we decided to go back to the gallery, where we’d met a guy named Art (short for Arturo–yes, HOT) and his friend Hugo (yes, HOT too), and they were being allllll sessy with us, taking us to the back room where the little makeshift bar was set up, and talking about how much they love redheads (cuz we’re both super pale and rojo), and the one guy? Hugo? Oh my GOD, delicious and smokin’ hot started staring deeeeeep into my eyes and basically seduced me in about 5 seconds…

I swear I was ready to go into the other back room with him…

Until his WIFE WALKED INTO THE ROOM!

What the fresh? Why would this guy do this to me? He was the gallery owner, and his business partner was his WIFE! Why would someone be that freakin’ ballsy? I don’t care that it was his birthday. I don’t care that he owns the place. What gives men that entitlement that they think they can drool all over women and then just turn around and slide their arms around their wives’ waists like nothing ever happened?

Tiger, would you like to take this one?

Anyway. Cindy and I just kind of looked at each other at that point, and while Art was talking to a client and Hugo was petting his wife, we slinked (slunk?) out the door.

That was pretty much the end of our night. All of the other venues were closed, so we didn’t have any other place to fill our grog mugs. So we hugged goodbye and called it a night.

Okay, folks. It’s time to close today’s semi-rant. Tonight, I’m off to Crazy Maria’s. Her friends are hosting an engagement party for her daughter and her new super-duper handsome and lovely fiance. I’m looking forward to it. I can’t wait to see Maria. It’s always great to go to her mansion and rub elbows with the biggies.

Let’s see if I can cause some trouble!

Better wash my hair for this and put on something shiny and sparkly! You never know what might come of this little soiree.

Until tomorrow…
*air kisses*
