PIC OF THE DAY!
So I think the photo caption is something like: BACK IN THE DAY. I know it’s not a picture of myself with big hair or whatever, but I love this photo of old Rome from the top of the Spanish Steps. It’s a very old city, and I love Rome a lot. Imagine what it was like back in the day.
TODAY…
1. Thankful for this morning to get ready for the new week!
2. Thankful that it’s the final countdown of this decade.
3. Thankful that I’m adjusting my plans for the new year and for the opportunity to do so.
4. Happy that I’m going to lunch with a long lost friend today.
5. Thankful that I’ll be getting my cup of java soon.
Okay. I wanted to get this entry in early so that I can get to other pressing matters for today without thinking about the fact that I haven’t posted an entry yet.
I didn’t sleep well and I’m not sure why. I’m not really stressed about anything, but I was wide awake at 3am and couldn’t get back to sleep for well over an hour. It could be that I’ve been staying up later and later lately and I went to bed at 10 last night and I guess my body is a little confused that I was in bed at a normal hour and without a trace of alcohol.
But then my mind started racing with stuff that I want to get done today, and that was pretty much all she wrote. It was hard to get up this morning, but it feels good to be up and showered and getting an entry in. I’m going for my coffee at the coffee shop at 8 so that I can be back up here in the loft sending pertinent emails this morning.
Oh man, I’ve been called for jury duty for the first time in my life! I should have known when I saw that renewed voter registration card in the mail. I suppose that now is as good a time as ever, but I do see what an annoyance it is. Still, I will serve my public duty and perhaps get a few good stories out of it.
I’m also thinking about having a little post-holiday party. I think I mentioned that in my last entry, but the idea seems to be solidifying a little more every time I think about it.
And. The BIG question: what am I going to do for New Year’s Eve?
Uh, right. I don’t know! Right now the best option is yoga. I kid you not. The yoga studio is doing a 10:30-11:30 session and then having a BYOB party afterward. I truly can’t think of a better way to spend my NYE than right here in the building (don’t have to drive anywhere), reflecting on and sweating out the last decade and filling my body full of hope and optimism for 2010. Why not? As long as I don’t have to kiss Yoga Man at midnight I’ll be fine.
I’ve invited Cindy (via voicemail) to do that with me since the last time we spoke neither one of us had plans. Even if she doesn’t do that with me, I think it might be nice…we’ll see. We have a couple more days to figure it out. All I know is (a) I don’t really want to drive, and (b) I don’t really want to get all liquored up. So this option could be ideal.
Well, that’s it. That’s all I have for now. I’ve got ants in my pants to start this Monday off right, so here I go!
Lots of winter warmth and coffee kisses! XO
