Hi again! Stuff is good and crazed (or maybe not so crazed after yesterday).
I’m leaving tomorrow for 10 days in Paris/London/New York. I’m headed on another one of those crazy trips I take with my crazy co-workers. However, we’re going to leave Crazy (with a capital c) at home this time. I don’t know if it will be as fun, but I can assure you it’s going to be less INSANE.
I should explain.
Crazy is/was my boss. Actually, she’s good. In a crazy kind of way. I don’t think I’ve written too much about her in the past year, but I won’t be writing too much more about her anyway as she’s going to be moving to another area in the next week.
Let’s just put it this way. Last time I went to Taiwan and flew with her, passengers (total strangers) kept looking at ME in a way that said, “Can you please control your travelmate? She’s driving us all NUTS?!”
And she has absolutely no clue how annoying she is. But what can you do? Yes, she was annoying, but she was also my boss. AND. She was incredibly loyal and defensive when it came to her people. Now that she’s moving out of my area, she’s not so much…no, not at all. And I’m going to have to figure that one out (because there’s kind of a lot of stuff left undone prior to her departure).
ANYWAY–the reason she’s not going on this trip is not because she’s leaving my area, it’s because she had gall bladder surgery that BACKFIRED!! Her doctor told her absolutely NO travel!! They think she might have some kind of blockage–can you imagine traveling overseas and then BOOM, something blocks, backs up, etc? Oy. I’m glad she’s not going for so many reasons.
But then all that means is that I’m traveling with Krab Kakes. Oh, did you know that? Yes, Krab Kakes and I will be traipsing the streets of Paris, wandering through the alleyways London, and bustling through the long New York blocks together. I bet you can’t wait for THOSE updates, right?
And when I get back from this trip, I’ll have a NEW boss to tell you all about. Joy! I do hear great things about him, but let me be the judge of that, OK? Still, it’s nice to hear good things. You should have heard the things I was told about Crazy Boss. With the exception of her being pretty annoying, she turned out pretty well.
Anyway, I’m a little bluesy about leaving my honey, but this little time apart will do us well, I know. He’s leaving anyway on a business trip to Telluride, CO to ski-work (ha!), and although he says he’s not looking forward to that, I know that both of our trips will be a welcome change from the minor stressors at home (wedding planning and a generally messy living space from me moving in).
SexyPants and I have had two great days of semi-impromptu lunches together, so that’s been fun. And last night, and old college roomie of mine came to town and we had dinner with her. Really nice.
All of this, and we are both trying really hard to lose weight! We’ve both given up drinking for a month (until mid-Feb, I guess…maybe longer?). I just need to see some poundage drop.
I’ve been doing Jillian Michaels workouts again, and while I feel my arms getting stronger (and my legs too), I’m just not seeing any kind of change on the scale or with my clothes. Oh how I long for my lithe, skinny body (minus the neuroses) again.
We are bringing pedometers on this trip as we do lots and lots and LOTS of walking (sounds like we’ll be doing a lot of it in the rain this time–yuk), so that could make a little bit of a difference.
Just hope that Krab Kakes takes all her happy pillz.
Anyway, life is grand, work is busy, bootie is plump, SexyPants still sexy, kitty cat is baby sat, and entry is written. My work here is done for today. Hope to see you again realllllll soon!
Love, love, love.
