OK here’s the deal. As people will have seen from previous surveys, I would like to be a film director.
The BBC is runing a competition as part of their Talent event to find new directors. The prize includes a placement for four weeks with the BBC, professional tuition in script structure, directing and production skills and the chance to shadow a BBC production, as well as £1000.
Sounds perfect. And it is. I would so much love to enter this competition and possibly win. But there is a catch.
To enter I have to submit a film no more than ten minutes long, to the BBC by the end of May.
I have no video camera, I have no access to post-production facilities, I have no money. In fact about the only thing I have in my favour is a few ideas for my film.
What should I do?
Should I attempt to go for it and see if I can scrounge what I need? Or should I just give up?
