Last weeks question:
James Marsters based his British accent for playing Spike on which British actor?

Corbeau had the first attempt:
I don’t think there was one specific actor, at least not that he’s named. Of course, maybe I just haven’t read all of the interviews, but the last interview I read, where they asked him that question again, he said he was working with an actor during the production of The Tempest who was from North London and he helped him with the accent. Of course, he also said that he has seen every Monty Python and that helped him a great deal as well.

Next up was Polter-Cow:
There are only three British actors: Sir Alec Guiness, Sir John Gielgud, and Hugh Grant. It had to be one of those three.

Erm, I think you have forgotten Robert Carlyle, wan McGregor, Robbie Coltrane, Sir Ian McKellen and others, there.

Purple_mage gets the stating the bleeding ovious award for the first part of her answer:
you seem to have a lot of buffy related quotes or trivia, me thinks you are a might obsessed. anyway i am asuming that the english actor had to be mr John Cleese for sheer absurdity of that answer. If it wasn’t then it had to be Mr Palin, he gets around alot.

Damaged Woman suggested this:
He got his accent from an actor he worked with in a play a few years ago, but also from Tony Head, who plays Giles. Tony’s accent is difference from Giles, so James uses Tony’s real accent. E x (i got that from imdb)

DWU chipped in with:
I read that he spent some of his time over here and that’s where he picked up the British accent. Oh well, I don’t know!Dean

willow in =w=glasses was the last person to answer:
i want to say billy idol even though he’s not an actor. and i call myself a buffy fan. tsk. ~willow

And Damaged Woman is right. Certainly the way I’ve heard it, Tony Head helped James marsters with his accent, and the accent is indeed taken from Tony.

BTW, did anyone else see the Top Ten TV Couples where it was suggested that it was Tony Heads American accent which got him the role on Buffy?

This weeks question:
“Crouching tiger hidden dragon” is a quote from Chinese mythology. What does it refer to?

You have a week. Good luck.

Will
