Grrr. Argh in OD

Last night I went out for a drink with a girl who I absolutely love. She was going to come along on my birthday night out, but due to circumstances beyond her control, she could not make it. So we went out last night. Just as friends.

It was brilliant. We talked for ages about wrestling, Buffy, wrestling, films, wrestling, politics, wrestling, the forthcoming Rock Soc ‘Bloody Valentine’ night (fancy dress themes are Vampires, famous couples and gangsters. We have decided to mix the first two, add the twist that the couple are fictional and go as Spike and Dru (go on, tell me how shocked you are not)). I went back to hers, borrowed Shrek on DVD, listened to Nirvana, did a quiz about the Hardy Boyz and Lita (she scored more than me) and I felt about 15 at times as I leant out her window smoking so I did not set off the smoke alarm. I got home about 4:30.

I also found out about her boyfriend (who she had previously split up with as he cheated on her). I’ve met this guy and thought he was a pretty cool person. I have since found out that:
He wrote off his cheating on her as “experimentation”
He is allowed to eye up other females
He flirts with other females on front of her
But she is not allowed to look at other guys. In fact, I think he is jealous of the fact that I am good friends with her.

Why is she still with him? Why has she not yet dumped his sorry ass? (And, before you say it, no I’m not just saying that so I can make a move on her. I’m saying these things because she is a friend, she’s gonna get hurt, and I don’t want to see that happening.)

More to the point, why does any woman stay in a relationship like that?

Answers, I would like answers. Please?

Will
