UN urged to deal with online terrorism
Central Reservation Affiliated Press:
Today the United Nations were urged to help deal with what was described as a clear cut case of online terrorism.
Members of the online community freeopendiary who post political entries are faced with the threat of notebombing. This phenomenon is when an entry into an online journal is rendered unreadable using a line of code.
The notebombing has taken a new dimension with the flag bomb. This bomb covers up an entire entry using a flag (in most cases the US flag).
Now FOD members who have been notebombed have asked the UN to help.
This is a clear cut case of a group attempting to restrict our rights and censor what we wish to say, said one of the petitioners, known only by his diary name WF. I have had to switch one diary onto no notes, thus suppressing my readers right to free speech, and now my other diary has been targeted.
Attempts have been made to contact the freeopendiary staff about this problem, but no response has been received. Thus, we are turning to the UN in the hope that they can do something.
No single group has taken responsibility for the notebombing attack. The UN has yet to comment.
Reposted due to terrorist attack.
