My ex and I have been discussing going to the local LGBT film festival together later this month. I have mixed feelings about wanting to go to the festival, something we used to always enjoy when we were together, and not really wanting to be with her.
The festival this year is dominated with films about gay men, which is what appeals to me most. Previous festivals that we have gone to together have had a lot of transgender movies, which is what appealed to her most, so I’m happy this time it’s more of what I like.
Full passes to the festival cost $100 each, which isn’t much of a bargain compared to what it would cost to just buy individual tickets to each show, but I suggested to her that we buy passes anyway. She immediately understood that I was excited about spending the money, and told me that she wanted me to buy a pass for both of us.
