I came here yesterday and was shocked to read the message from Josh about Open Diary. I hadn’t known they were closing. I hardly ever post there now but I value my diary from before I joined Prosebox. Thank goodness the closure has been pushed forward to the end of February. I am now copying and pasting my entries from there over here. I am keeping them private for now and will release them a few at a time later.

The weather here has been awful, endless rain for weeks. There was one spring like day on Wednesday and Hubby and I spent the afternoon in the garden. He picked up bags full of leaves from the autumn, he hasn’t had a chance to do it before, while I was tidying the flower bed, cutting down the dead stems of the perennials. Now we can see the spring bulbs shooting up and there are snowdrops in bloom in the corner by our old dog’s grave. I have planted them all over the garden but they only ever come back in that corner.

The day looked promising this morning but within an hour of so the Black Mountains, that we can see from our windows had disappeared and when that happens we know more rain is on the way, so I gave up the idea of doing more work the garden and, after doing a few jobs in the house I had a shower and then settled down to watch the next episode of Patience. It’s a really good program about a young autistic woman who works for the police as an archivist but is so brilliant at solving crimes that the detective take her on as a helper.

Hubby has gone back to Cardiff. We were watching the birds in our garden on Thursday. We get lots of sparrows and blue tits and the occasional robin or blackbird or wren. Hubby didn’t want to go back. He says they only get seagulls and pigeons there. Well, Louise has 5 cats now so I suppose the smaller birds keep well away! I have only the one cat now. Suki is 14. She keeps me company on the days that Hubby is away.
