(A poem inspired by Song of Solomon—exploring connection)

Just one night of bliss—

I know I am remiss.

My skin ignites with current,

Pulled deep by every moment.

Your lips, so soft as cream,

This longing makes me scream.

To feel your body’s fibers rise,

Your breath—pure fire in whispered cries.

My heart still aches and wants,

Trapped in memory’s haunting taunts.

Take this heart, this fragile frame,

It shames me how love turned to flame.

I miss you.

I need you.

This longing only grew,

It fed the spark, it stoked the fire,

Fanned and fueled this deep desire.

Denied too long, my defenses fall—

My heart still answers every call.
