The NFL Playoffs continued this weekend. The San Francisco 49ers got the boot yesterday, which I am not upset about. As far as my professional football allegiances go, I don't care for the 49ers or even the Seattle Seahawks, who ended up handing the 49ers their asses yesterday, to the tune of 41-6. I felt compelled to cheer for Seahawks quarterback, Sam Darnold, who is product of the University of Southern California. More often not, I will cheer for the many USC Trojans throughout the NFL, one of whom happens to be Darnold. I will also cheer against the 49ers most of the time, so as far as that SF-SEA game goes, I see it as a win-win. The 49ers are done. Darnold and the Seahawks move on to the NFC Championship Game. I'm content.
Now, it would appear that the magic in Chicago died tonight when the Los Angeles Rams went into Soldier Field and beat the Bears in overtime, 20-17. Well, being that I can't cheer for anything in Los Angeles, it looks like I'll be pulling for those Seahawks next week. Fuck the Rams. Go 'Hawks.
As far as the AFC Championship, I don't really care who wins, but if I'm putting money on the game, I think I'm going with the New England Patriots. The Denver Broncos may not do a whole lot in next week's game, being that their starting quarterback is now out for the season with a broken ankle. How's that for luck and horrible timing? Injuries in the NFL. They're definitely a thing, timing be damned.
I don't have much else to write about. Tomorrow is a holiday, but I'm still going to work for a few hours. Double time. Can't pass that up, even if it will be just for a few hours. After that, I'll be relaxing and not doing anything work-related.
I dunno. This'll do for now.
