Christmas Day in scarlet_dragon

2025 another Christmas in the books. I don’t have much to relay other then it was a decent day. We did our usual having home made pizzas for dinner. My son got me a fire tablet. It was honestly my big gift, he asked for my amazon wishlist and bought it and a case and extra memory all on his own with his own money. I <3 him for that. Not that he got me a big expensive gift but that he took the time to figure it out buy it wrap it etc. He’s a good kid.
I can tell he seemed kind of disappointed with his gifts, even though we got him a switch2 which he didn’t ask for. But the two things he really wanted I have wrapped up for his birthday so I’m trying to remind him without spoiling it.
My mother is going to be here tomorrow. I didn’t do much in the way of cleaning. I’ll have to go over the bathrooms’ tomorrow and just call it good for now. It is what it is.
My husband has forever been the guy who will open all his gifts and then 10 mins later go put everything away. I guess it was the way they were forced to take everything to their rooms like 10 mins after Christmas was done at their house while growing up. He started trying to force it on our son years ago and I had to have a talk with him about it. Yes it has to be cleaned up by the end of the night but why can’t he just enjoy his stuff in the mess of Christmas? So he leaves it alone now and won’t say anything.
All in all it was a good day. The day itself just doesn’t really feel very special anymore. I’m struggling with a lot of “me” things this year and hope to finally get some things sorted out when things settle into the new year.
Anyways. I should get going and enjoy these last few hours of time on Christmas. I’ll ttyl.
