Asking for help in Daily Dose of Human

I do honestly believe that one of the things I am supposed to learn in this lifetime is that it is okay to ask for help. In any

way that you need it. How would anyone know to help you if they don't know that you need help in the first place?

I think in the beginning as far as I can remember my mother was always on so much medication her entire life (This is a story for another time). She tried to treat herself all the time and diagnose herself I think I believed that was mostly normal because that was really all I knew. My mom never really took me to the doctor or anything unless it was a serious emergency...well i take that back because I broke my wrist in 2nd grade and she wouldn't take me to the hospital until the next day because she didn't want to leave her boyfriend's house. Let me read that for the first time again. Wow. Yeah, true story.

Anyway, growing up my mom always had me in and out of health food stores and getting all sorts of herbs and tinctures and they all worked well. I realize that my mom believed that they all worked so well and that she could just continue to cure yourself. Sometimes you can, sometimes you can just get you some elderberry for a cold, some aloe for a cut, some ginger for nausea etc.

Sometimes you need more than what you can offer yourself. Sometimes you need other people's knowledge also which is more than what you can contain yourself. It took me until now to apply that here.

Asking for help doesn't make you a failure. It doesn't make you weak.

It actually makes you pretty strong.

It makes you strong because you are initiating change when you have done all you can do yourself and still want to do better but feel stuck. Being vulnerable enough to speak up and say that. That is strong.

With that being said if you made it this far I could really use some help with a really late power bill. It doesn't hurt to ask right?
