Since I have some extra money this year from Jamberry, I decided to get professional Christmas pictures taken of the kids. I picked outfits for them and we went and it was soooooo chaotic with Cody tripping and falling and then crying and refusing to smile. And then Miles was just getting up and walking all over the place and then they were throwing her Christmas balls around, almost destroying her backdrop. Mike and I just kind of shook our heads and the lady has kids so she knew to get it done quickly. The shots turned out ok. I didn’t pay a fortune for her so I guess I got what I paid for but they’re all right. I used them for Christmas cards and some gifts for family. Oh and Cody smiled pretty weirdly in them but what can you expect from kids, right? This is not his normal smile lol. Here’s the best ones:
This entry might be a bit all over the place but bear with me lol. Cody had his dentist appointment this past Tuesday at the specialist. He had a cavity in between his front two teeth and wouldn’t let the dentist look at it without crying when I took him for his initial assessment so we had to go to a specialist. I went in with him and they gave him laughing gas and the dentist quickly worked at the cavity. I was sitting in the dentist chair sideways with his legs in my lap and I was holding his hand and telling him it was ok. Regardless he bawled the whole time and hated every second of it. I even had to hold his arms down after a while because he was trying to shove the dentist’s hands away and the gas thing away from his nose. The dentist and her assistant were really nice though and I just basically sat there and chatted with them and watched the whole procedure. It took about 45 minutes and Cody cried the whole time and nothing we said stopped him. At least it’s fixed now and he won’t have to go back for a while. 80% of it was covered through Mike’s work plan but we still had to pay $135.
Our dishwasher, which we have only had for 3 months, is dead somehow. I had to wait for them to come fix it. Then they said it needed parts. We waited for the parts to come in. Then waited for the guy to come fix it with the parts. Two days after he left I tried it and it was doing the EXACT same thing it was doing before. So they told me there’s nothing they can do, they have no idea what’s wrong so we will need to get a replacement from Leon’s. Obviously it’s free because it’s under warranty for a year so I’m waiting to hear back from Leon’s about the finalizing of all the plans. We paid to have someone install it so I’m just worried they’re not going to cover that. I hate whining about stuff but I plan to complain until they agree to pay for installation because I’m pretty sure we paid like $80 for that. Did I mention it SUCKS having to do dishes constantly? Ugh!
I’m a bit over halfway done my Christmas shopping. MIL came over last weekend and she watched the kids for a couple of hours while Mike and I went to Toys r us and bought all of the kids’ presents except for stocking stuffers. I also ordered them books previously and picked up a DVD and some train stuff for Cody a while ago. Their santa gift is a big stand up car ramp toy. They’re going to share it because I knew they’d both love it. Other years obviously they will get separately Santa gifts but at the moment they don’t really get the difference. We also got more dinky cars and a sled since we don’t have one as well as some learning words toys for Cody, tub toys for Miles and random odds and ends. One of my favorites that I found is a book where you press the picture of say an apple and it says “apple” and there’s 100 different words in all sorts of categories that you can press. This is great for Cody right now because he’s at the age where he is repeating EVERYTHING and this will help make sure he knows all the different words in the categories like animals, foods, stuff around the house, etc. I think he’ll enjoy it :) He was actually wayyyy too easy to shop for this year since he’s old enough that we know what kind of stuff he likes. We could have just bought and bought but we restrained ourselves because we know the rest of the family will spoil him lol. I DID get him a Magna doodle though because he has a tiny one that is smaller than a postcard and he’s suddenly developed an interest in drawing which is so awesome! He will draw different things for like an hour and keep telling me what they are before he erases them. Sometimes it’s Mommy, or the couch, or a cup or a tree. It’s so adorable to see his little mind work!
Sometimes Mike and I buy each other surprise gifts, some years we go in on something bigger that we both want and some years we just say “hey, I would REALLY love this.” This is one of those years that we both said we’d really love something in particular so we know what we’re getting but that’s fine. We don’t do that all the time lol. Mike wanted season 14 of CSI and I want a set of David’s tea that has 12 different teas to try. Sounds fun! I love tea at this time of year and I think it would be fun to experiment and try different kinds and maybe find more kinds that I like. I think he might be getting me two sets actually cuz there’s a bunch of different sets with multiple types of tea in them. I’m EXCITED!! lol.
I had an amazing Jamberry month in November and won myself a bunch of bonuses and so right now I am feeling rather rich lol. I’m definitely not the type to blow it all though. I’m hoarding it and using it for Christmas presents and saving the rest. We had a cart full of stuff for the boys at Toys r us as well as stuff for my niece and it felt wonderful to just whip out my Jamberry pay card (it’s kind of like a prepaid mastercard) and pay for all of it and still have lots left over. Some of my bonuses are monetary and some are credit so whenever I get credit I ordered a ton of wraps to use all the credit and sell them myself as inventory as then that money is mine because they were free for me. I have 15 sets I’m selling right now. Mike took some to work today and I think he’s selling about 5 of them. Since they’re worth 19.20 each with tax, 15 of them equals a nice amount of money. Hoping to sell them all by the end of the month and then in January I will have a bunch of Facebook parties like usual :) We also sold our Wii and 18 games just to get rid of it because we never play it anymore and we thought that money would be perfect to help with Christmas gifts also. I got $250 for all of it which I don’t think is bad at all.
Anyways, sorry for the novel. There’s probably much more I could ramble on about but it’s nap time for all of us. Yay!
