If I could be an expert in any activity or subject what would it be.

The problem is, I want to be an expert in everything that I love doing. I wish I was more fluent in Spanish, although I can converse pretty well there are always words or phrases that I don’t understand.

I also wish that my patchwork sewing was better, and that I could do some of the fancy free motion quilting that I see in magazines and exhibitions.

I would love to know how to make 7 year old kids, who brag about how many energy drinks they’ve had, concentrate on the matter in hand.

I would love to be able to run faster and further, to cycle up the hill I have to take to get home without doing to the really low gears.

I would be so happy if I understood my daughters more, if I could recognise their behaviours and the reasons behind. I’m pretty good at guessing but often in retrospect.

And that, as they say, is probably not all!!

How old will you be in five years?
It will be five days to my 49th birthday ;-)

How tall are you ?
Five feet six. I was always a tall child and hated it. But I stopped growing when I was 15 and came to love being an also ran! I’m now the smallest in my family, little sis is four inches taller me!

What are you looking forward to most in the next six weeks?
My birthday, Tally’s birthday, buying the Christmas tree, seeing Lila okay after her operation on the 17th (not sure who’s more nervous, her or me!), Christmas.

What’s the last movie you saw?
I saw some of Horrid Henry yesterday, I love movies but not sure which I saw most recently, we won a family ticket to the movies and are planning use this weekend. Lila won it really but to appease tally we’ve said that, the colouring competition we entered (both girls and I entered it) was won by us because Lila’s picture was chosen…

Are your parents together?
They were married for 36 years before my mum died so i would imagine that, were she alive, they’d be married.

What color are your eyes?
Blue/grey

Where would you go if you could go anywhere?
I would love to go back to Cadiz, to see Seville and the northern parts of Spain also, but i want see while world too. I want to visit Vietnam and Laos, Japan and Australia. And many other places too.

Do you tan or burn?
I tend to avoid middle the day sun so I usually tan while using very little sunscreen - in this country least!

What did you fear was going to get you at night as a child?
I didn’t really have night fears, far too rational a child! Sometimes I would see something scary in the shadows so I got out of bed, switched on the light and saw that it was a couple toys next each other whose silhouette looked like something different.

How many pillows do you sleep with?
Two.

How many states/provinces have you lived in?
Kerugoya district in Kenya, Yorkshire, London and Wiltshire England and Florida in USA.

Do you prefer shoes, socks, or bare feet?
Bare feet. You can’t beat it.

What is your favorite dessert?
I love natural yogurt with fruits, nuts and seeds with a topping of honey.

What is your favorite kind of soup?
Mmmmmmmm soup....

Do you like coffee?
Yes

What do you drink in the morning?
Water or lemon and ginger tea.

Do you like to cuddle?
Cuddles make the world go round.

Have you ever been to Canada?
No, but I would love to.

Do you know anyone with the same birthday as you?
No one is allowed to share my birthday! Are you mad?! I met a girl called Cressida in London who shared the exact, same birthday with me. She will also be 44 next Thursday.

Do you want kids?
Already have them!

Have you ever ridden in an ambulance?
Yes. After a car crash. It was a bizarre experience because i was in a moving vehicle while lying down!

Do you prefer an ocean or a pool?
Ocean!!

What do you dip a chicken nugget in?
Must I?

Have you ever run out of money?
Not completely, but it’s been low at times.

What is your usual bedtime?
10.00ish on weekdays and later the weekend.

Do you read the newspaper?
Online.

What was the last note you scribbled on a piece of paper?
Trying to help a child understand maths the other day.

When was the last time you attended church?
shrugs I d’nno.

What is the longest you have ever camped out in a tent?
Our two week holidays in Scotland in the seventies.
