Even though Gurney is long gone, Manteca continues to come by our little corner of the office. Now, I'm wondering what her deal is. At first, the thought was that she would only come by to chit-chat with Gurney because she was merely avoiding doing any work and I guess she figured that she'd walk about as far away from her desk as possible. Gurney is gone now. So, why in the hell does she still need to come by?
I have a candy bowl just behind my cubicle and I am confident that Manteca likes to eat, this based solely on her physical stature, so it wouldn't surprise me if she were to come by just to wade through that candy bowl every now and then. As far as I've seen, she has never gone into that candy bowl, at least not while I've been seated at my desk. Earlier today, she just so happened to stop by to chat with Nessa. I've never seen her talk to Nessa, so to me, their whole conversation seemed odd and I have no idea what they were talking about.
Manteca knows that someone in my work group doesn't like her, because her supervisor may have had a conversation with her about not coming by our area and pestering us due to someone possibly making a complaint. I don't talk to Manteca and neither does Gloria. I think that Manteca thinks that either myself or Gloria does not like her. I don't care for Manteca and honestly, I don't care if she knows it or if she suspects that I'm the one who doesn't like her. I don't think Gloria cares for her either.
I'd have nothing to talk to Manteca about anyway. Since I don't eat much anymore, I don't think I'd be that much fun engaging in a conversation about food or anything edible. It seemed that every time she's come by to talk to Gurney, they would always talk about food. Gurney isn't fat, but I guess he would humor her when it came to talking about food. Manteca is huge. My guess is that food is likely the only thing that matters in her life. Work isn't a priority because she's always looking to avoid doing any work. She always has this dumb look on her face too, but that's material for another entry.
Gurney is gone, but Manteca continues to linger. She's about as worthless as Gurney was. In fact, I'm willing to go so far as to say that she is just as worthless as Gurney was, fat or otherwise.
