Potential house in Hello.

Dad sent me a link yesterday to a property in my town. It’s ex council, so will be pretty sturdy, and has a massive back garden. It was on the website for “offers over £60,000”. It needs fully renovated throughout, but it’s neat and looks livable as is. Dad thought it would be good for us, but John and I went to look at the outside of it and thought it would be too small for 3, 4, 5 adults (kids that come and go, haha!) We are looking to buy, but we won’t be able to afford anything big enough in this town, so we’re hoping to go nearer the coast.
Anyway, I thought it would be perfect for Rob! He’s got a good chunk of money saved up and, as the house is livable as it is (really just needs a carpet in the living room and white goods in the kitchen to make it habitable) there would be no rush to get it done up as he goes away doing agency work. I’m probably counting my chickens here, but I’m really excited and so is he! I’m going to ring the estate agents to arrange a viewing later on. John and I would be more than happy to help. Plus massive garden for John to potter in, hehe!
Edit: The estate agents have said they’re not doing any more viewings. It was only on their website a day and it’s gone already! Hardly surprising.
Rob hates his latest gig. Disorganised, depressing, head chef has no clue and sous has an attitude problem. He’s trying to keep his head down and think of the money, but it’s hard. He said he almost walked out after 4 hours! But with agency work, you get bumped to the bottom of the list if you do that. At least he’s keeping in touch with me, even if it’s just messaging me first thing in the morning to tell me what he’s up to. I think shorter gigs might be better for him in the longrun. But I’m guessing that’s the nature of agency work!
Belle is working hard. She’s got into walking (finally!) and has bought herself some gear. Her boyfriend does voluntary work for the Forestry Commission, so she often goes with him to explore while he does his thing.
Eleanor has finally got fed up of sitting around waiting for her dream job to fall into her lap, and is currently looking for work. There’s a B and M opening in town next month, so she’s keeping an eye on them advertising for staff. It’s only a 5 minute walk away.
I’m still loving my job. I’ve been doing bits of everything this week, Monday I was on the bar, yesterday I was picking and packing online orders, and today I have volunteered to go in on my day off and give a tour because there was nobody else who could do it. I don’t mind, I was only going to be doing housework today anyway. I loved the picking and packing, I was on my own in the warehouse, so could blast my music and dance around while I was doing it. Was bloody freezing mind! I don’t really wrap up to go to work as it’s literally less than a minute away, and I didn’t know I was going to be doing that job until I arrived! At least when it gets really cold in the winter, I can just nip home and get my coat. More of that please!
The tour is going to be fun. We’ve been sent a few ghost stories about the brewery (all true!) and we’ve been encouraged to include a few. I’m looking forward to that very much!
Still doing well with my walking. I’m still on target to hit my 4,500,000 steps by the end of the year, as long as consistently do 13,000 steps every day. On work days, I try to walk 6,000 steps before my shift starts, so I easily surpass my target working behind the bar.
Ooh, I almost forgot that I’m supposed to be going to pick up some pencils later. Work have got colouring sheets and boxes of pencils to give out to the kids. We’ve given out 2 boxes of pencils and neither of them came back! I said they’d be better off with a big Tupperwear full of broken crayons. I asked on the Freecycle page on Facebook and a lady said she had some pencils she was getting rid of. So that’s a good start! Must remember to go after my tour.
