We had our first snowfall of the winter last week. It came in the evening and was more or less gone by the following afternoon. The mountains stayed snowy for two days though. I can see them from my windows and they look beautiful when the snow is on them. It always reminds me of a winters day many years ago when the children were young and they were sad that the snow by us had melted so soon, so we drove them and their sledges up the mountains to the snow and they had a wonderful afternoon.

That time must have left its mark because Chris and Andrea often drive to the taller Welsh mountains and climb them to see the sunset over the snow and Louise used to drive to the mountains in the snow with David in the Landrover when they were together.

Hubby finally came home from Cardiff just after Christmas. Louise is a lot better. He stayed with her for Christmas Day and Boxing Day and I had the day at Chris and Andrea’s. Tony, Justeen, Dakota and Justeen’s mum Shirley were there too and we had a lovely family day. Dakota and Andrea have become big friends.

Hubby arranged to buy a new car as we are tired of being let down by the old one. It was all sorted in time for us to go to the New Year party given by members of the choir Hubby sings in. Since a lot of us were musicians we were asked to perform a song or two. It was lovely to finally go out over Christmas and New Year. I haven’t been anywhere apart from shopping and medical appointments since October.

In February it will be Hubby’s 80th birthday and our Golden Wedding anniversary is 11 days later. I am planning a family meal out. Unfortunately I know Louise and Thomas Belle won’t be joining us which makes me sad. I would so like to see the two cousins playing together. They are so close in age and neither has another cousin. But that isn’t going to happen any time soon so we hope to enjoy the occasion with the rest of our family.
