Transitional fabrics in Half-baked musings

A content creator asked, with complete sincerity, what dressing gowns are for.

My favourite response explained that they are 'transitional fabrics', used when you're not quite ready to wear harsher or colder daytime fabrics.

I love this definition. I now feel wholly justified when I change from cosy PJs into fleecey trousers as an intermediary before I'm ready for the roughness of denim!

And similarly, I am now in a period of transitional spirituality.

I am wrapping myself in the warm, softness of believing in something more, something beyond.

I am allowing every comforting poem to be real - that she has just stepped into another room.

I am watching every feather that falls, thanking every bird that lingers, seeing patterns of the universe in everything I experience.

And hoping that her gentle, joyous spirit is out there, smiling her beautiful smile once more. That she is safe. That she is happy.

Until the day I am ready to wear the discomfort of certainty.

Fly high, Mum xx
