After the mind numbing tedium that is job hunting, inclusing the utterly soul destroying experience of having to record myself answering pre-recorded questions and feeling like a numpty sitting on my sofa in a button down shirt and boxers, I got an email offering me a job.
Well, conditional on me passing checks.
Assuming all goes well, I start on the 24th of next month. Which means I had to phone my mum and tell her I wouldn’t be home for Christmas.
It’s going to be answering phones for the DWP. It’s in Gateshead, which is a ballache in terms of distance. Mercifully, it’s beside the Metrocentre, which means I can get a train straight there from Middlesbrough and not have to worry about having the change or switch to the bus.
I worked out that they didn’t actually give me an interview. I did have to do some online tests, but no actual interview. Which explains why I still have to do the checks.
Apart from that, not much has been happening. Watched the two Scotland games at the wekend and how we won them both I will never know. We were dreadful.
And that’s really about it.
