Cat and me in Book Two

Most mornings I wake up with the cat sitting on my chest purring, purring, purring. Sometimes she paws my face if I’m deep in a slumber. It’s not a bad way to wake up. Better than an alarm clock. I like waking up early and it seems that the cat does too, as soon as the sky begins to get light.

Mornings are cool and fresh and quiet, the best time of day. Many people miss mornings either by sleeping in or by rushing off to work. That’s a shame.

For the cat, getting up early means soft food from a can and then out the front door. We won’t see her for a few hours. For me, getting up early means coffee and computer, alone time. I’m usually good for 3 cups and 3 hours.

Today we are going out for brunch to celebrate Sally’s 29th birthday. It’s 13C and raining so I think I will start packing, getting ready for the road trip to BC instead of the morning walkie.
