So this game is:
A train game.
A game with asymmetric powers.
A game with a customized rondel so you can get that beautiful sweet feedback loop, and a beautiful engine going.
A game with a lot of variability and set up.
A game that is really easy to play, and can play great 1-8 (with expansion)
Magical (No really the trains are magic)
You got Empyreal: Spells and steam, my number 1 game:

So, I would have got this on crowdfunding if I would have known how easy it was to play. But i didnt and I got it right before the pandemic hit hard (With expansion and shortly after the fancy bits, mainly for the nice player boards). But this game hits all the notes. It takes longer to set the bloody game up than to teach it. (Thats the only downside, setup SUCKS) You move your pawn, do the actions, (Laying track buying cars etc) or reset (get your mana back and reset your captain and things) and when you hit the end of the line, make a delivery, and unlike most train games where you have to be in a connected line, your trains can be anywhere, as long as one of them is connected to the city you're delivering to. Also, games are super quick, (30 minutes for a 2 player game, 2.5 hours for a 6) I want to play this at 8 because it would be nuts.
This also produced one of my favorite pictures of the Late, great boots cat who loved boxes:
Got the game, was unboxing and punching things out, and he just plopped in.
Anyways, anyone ever in the western PA Area, ill gladly break this game out and play it. Then play it again, and maybe a third time. And lose each time cause i'm not good at it at all. But its a great gem.
Thats my top 10. ill probably do a honorable mention tomorrow then a recap of the month before the end of the month.
Anyhop. thats all.
