So ever since Easter and the move back home from trucking, my husband and I have kind of felt like strangers in our own city. So many things have changed just in the last 4 years we were over the road. I mean, we would come home for Christmas and holidays and stuff, but not for extended periods of time. I think we took the most time off at Christmas (around 2 weeks). But I think we’re finally starting to feel more like we’re home. And the struggle has been to find another “job” that still allows us the freedom that we’re now used to, and the flexibility as well. All roads so far have been leading to sales rolls. And I am not a people person, y’all, let alone a salesperson. I had tried it before doing business to business sales and it just was not my cup of tea. I don’t want to convince anyone of anything. I don’t want to push anyone into anything. But it’s so hard to find anything remote I can do these days. Just not having any luck.
But I think we finally found something. A solar company where we don’t even have to do the selling/closing! All I have to do is set the appointment for the technician to go in and qualify them/close the deal! I can do that! And they don’t care how you get it done as long as it’s ethical and legal of course. AND my husband and I can work together, which is something we both prefer. We just started training today and it went well. If we do good in training, hopefully we can shadow someone this weekend and start making money next week! Oh, and their compensation program is VERY fair. One of the best I’ve seen, actually. And Randy’s still working a bit with his previous client he did CNA work for before we went over the road. And we’re driving for UberEATS. So, we’re making it happen. I’ll be honest, though. I can’t wait until we get out own place. There’s a reason I don’t have kids.... I don’t have the patience. I love my nieces, but they drive me nuts at the same time. Some of the behavior their parents allow I just can’t. And it’s not my place to say anything. But anyway, I digress. We go to training tomorrow and Thursday and we’re done. I hope we get to shadow this weekend.
