I have only listened to Seveneves once mainly because its a 40 hour Audiobook, and I will listen to it again after my queue of books i want to listen to is done, but its a long one.

Moon blew up. Thats the beginning of seven eves. Its found out that the world is going to end in a couple years, but only for about 5,000 years. So the plan was to send the best and brightest to the ISS (Izzy) and create a new habitable space station for I want to say 20,000 people. (i can't recall the amount) But basically what happens next is a series of unfortunate events ranging from a mutiny and a failed travel expedition to Mars, to an expedition to get some ice from a comet, and finally Cannibalism. (more on that in a second) Its all hard science fiction, no aliens and everything is fully believable. But by the end all but 8 people have passed away, and the 8, all women one of them being a geneticist, all came together and with the help of the geneticist who couldn't bear children started a program that basically saved humanity with a frozen embryo/ genetic manipulation program, the 7 women (The seven eves) came up with the solution of being able to have one special power (like super strength or better diplomatic skills etc) so 5000 years later humanity split into 7 different styles of humans, and one of those humans was the leader of the cannibal faction who basically kept manipulating her genes for better and stronger humans (She became really paranoid) and  her subset of humans look more like Neanderthals. The third act is all about a group of 7 returning to Earth which by this time is becoming habitable again on a expedition, and they end up finding 2 more lost tribes  (one who doomsday prepped in a mine in alaska, and another group who found solace in a few underwater caves)

I WANT MORE OF THIS WORLD. The lore is SO OPEN AND SO COOL. They talk about wars between factions of humans (Blue and red) and all sorts of awesome technology, and  and the history of how the world came to be. There could be a gigantic anthology of stories about this world. I would love another story series about this world. But alas, the world is still excellent and a lot of fun.

This book was great, which made me sad that snow crash the book that made this author famous... was so....... awful.

Anyhop. Thats all.
