[slow] in a reflection

you open your eyes to a warm
wet cloudy day. you stand still
and stretch your arms. out and
out until you feel a branch
from a tree in your left hand,
and a wet leaf from another tree
in your right. you breathe in
and you inhale the rain from
the night before. its cool not
cold and if you shift your feet
you can hear the remnants of that
rain. and the rain still in the
air around you and you feel it
warm. wet. on your tongue. in
your taste. your feet move and
you can hear the ocean off in the
distance. tiny little crashes
as wave after wave hit the
sand. your eyes are closed now
and you feel the wind against
you, as you rest within its
soft whirl. listen, you say,
do you hear? do you want to hear
and you feel another rain drop
softly land on your bottom lip.
your fingertip rubs it in until
it is. gone. a small drink for
a mountain of parched. soul

Beautiful. I can imagine days just like this.
