It’s been two events since my last post, and I make no apologies about it on account of a four way clash between photography, work, nanowrimo and blogging.

First, there was Gamestart, which was pretty cool, giving free entry to anyone in costume.

So naturally I got in free

and so did Caffeine

I got a few pretty cool photos, which I mostly define by “You can’t tell this was a crowded convention hall:

and quite a few fun shots

Fig 5 Them claws are sharp. I got jabbed in a femoral artery while we were shaking hands.

And some incredibly retro game characters

(Note: I had to recover that from the image below. What colour her skin actually is may be a bit of guesswork.)

Oh, wait, these guys are even more so.

I only took about 70 useable photos that day, which is kinda low for me, and that got me worrying a little, because last year I’d burnt out around this time.

Fortunately, the Singapore Cosplay club organised something a little… different.

I’ve noticed something about their events: they’re much more lighthearted, and they certainly encourage a sense of play, from the top end right down to the casuals.

They organised this awesome event in September where they put together an entire set based on Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure in the middle of a shopping mall, and the only reason that you can’t tell this from my photos in this album hereis because they created an alternate world for everyone to come play in.

And last week they arranged a trip to the Trick Eye.
