So I may have found out why I’m getting that sunburn feeling on my legs (it’s now spread to my arms and hands). I was freaking out thinking it was an early sign of MS (since I’ve had some other symptoms that could be explained by MS as well), but then I decided to type in “allodynia” on tiktok to see what people were saying about it and see if that was anyone’s first MS symptom.
Turns out the very first 10 videos were about how it’s caused by GLP-1 medication. And it totally makes sense, because every time I’ve had a spike in my sunburn feeling, It was within a week of increasing my dose. And if you do some research on this it starts popping up everywhere. Brand new studies starting to show that allodynia can be a rare side effect of GLP0-1. Tons of reddit posts of people sharing their stories that are exactly the same as mine, even them also freaking out about MS. haha.
So anyway apparently the solution for most people was to reduce their dose and then slowly increase it again. Many people stopped taking it altogether but honestly as long as I know it’s nothing serious it’s kind of worth it to me to get this weight off. I can deal with a “sunburn” for a while if it helps me get more healthy long term. So, for now, I’m going to try the reduced dose for a couple of weeks and then slowly ramp back up.
But speaking of health, my CT scan to check my painful urination keeps getting rescheduled. They called me yesterday and told me they needed to push it back again and I said no this time. It’s been two weeks at this point, I’m just gonna pay for the scan and have them reimburse me after because this is crazy. It literally hurts to pee every day and THAT is debilitating. I’m double dosing AZO just to get by.
It’s possible it’s my doctor’s office’s fault because the insurance claimed they never received any CT request. So I gave them a call and had them resubmit it. No one is going to claim responsibility here, but if it turns out I have something super serious that could have been caught earlier instead of waiting around for 2 weeks there will be a fat malpractice lawsuit on their hands because this is dumb.
