The week started to look pretty crappy in Day to Day

I don’t like to write about work here. However, there is major upheaval at the office and I am now doing the work of 3 people. That’s why I don’t have time to write here any more. Our QA manager left and I’m doing half that role, which essentially just checking up on people. I don’t like it. I’m also writing again for the company newsletter, which is really fun actually. And the usual documentation stuff. I think my manager may be having a breakdown. I had a major stampy with him in the middle of the office about a week ago. I got fed up with him organising meetings to discuss my changing role without inviting me. It resulted in a bit of strokey beard meeting between the two of us and I think our differences are resolved, at least for the time being.

I’m writing this on Wednesday evening, but actually, the week started to look pretty crappy by 9:30 am, Monday. There were no buses running, and after waiting 40 minutes at the station, I decided to walk, in the rain. It took another 40 minutes. I didn’t see a bus as I walked. I arrived at the office about an hour later than usual looking like a drowned rat. I managed to leave at the usual time, but took work home with me. I was still sending emails during the commercial break as I watched Walking Dead. They’d better recognise my dedication!

Tuesday wasn’t much better. I had 4 hours of meetings. I’m not good at meetings. I get nervous.

Today is Wednesday and I feel relatively OK about the office. I am not staying late. I am going home to cook Thai red curry.

We spent the weekend with mother in Devon, which was nice. Even my brother showed up and we had a very civilised Sunday lunch together.

I’ve been having a fight with my local council over access to the secure cycle park in town. I paid for access, and my swipe card wouldn’t work, so I mailed them. It was ignored. So I phoned them, and got fobbed off. Then I phoned them a few more times and got fobbed off again. So I wrote two more emails and made an official complaint. Finally, today, after a month, they have written to me and said I should now have access. I’m going to check on the way home. If I don’t have access there may be a mysterious assassination in my locale towards the end of this week.
