dann and i were discussing babies last night. dann has apparently been thinking about having a baby this week. crany, because usually hes running to the hills when i mention it. his main concern (which is very valid) is child care. who is going to take care of the baby during the day? yes, it is expensive for a nanny or day care, but we have friends who are in this business! we also need to get out of apartment living and might move to the suburbs in order to make this work. i dunno…i think that if/when we decide to really have a baby, we will make it work. people make it work all the time! dann is worried about the cost and not seeing our baby as much as he would want to. if we did put the baby into day care, with our current schedules, we would only need to do it 3 days per week. dann has thursdays and fridays off and i have weekends off, so we have 4 days out of the week that we wouldnt have to pay for day care. dann might also need to get a better paying job and i will hopefully be hired full time through the DOE at the end of this year (cross your fingers…its apparently in the works!) so we will have some more money.
its exciting that hubby is thinking about having a baby. we actually had a serious conversation about it last night. he really is thinking about it! sigh i kinda have a feeling we might be trying by the end of the school year. we’ve been together 6 years. our relationship has only gotten stronger since we got engaged and even more since we got married. we originally thought we would wait a couple of years before we started trying, but we’er both thinking about it seriously. he’s 31, im 26. we’re not getting any younger. i am almost finished with grad school and have my career on the right path. dann is in a good spot in his career and has the possibility to grow even more within his field. i feel like we’re in a good spot. and if dann is thinking about something, that means he is serious about it. he’s even worried, which he never does, so i know this is important to him.
sigh only time will tell. i really think that by the summer, we will be trying to get pregnant though. exciting!
he is now trying to convince me to name our theoretical baby gonzalo gonzalez over text message…sigh only my husband!
