Day to day stuff in Hello.

Nothing exciting has been happening recently. Just work (which I’m enjoying) and slowly but surely trying to declutter at home.
My manager created a tour team WhatsApp group yesterday, which is very exciting! It’s taken us an awful long time to get to the position where we can finally take tours again. Firstly there was structural issues (not unusual for a building that’s 200 years old, has flooded numerous times and has stood neglected for almost 3 years!) then there was issues with the booking system. But fingers and toes crossed, everything will be up and running within a week! They’ve taken on 2 tour guides on an “as and when” basis. I think at the moment they’re going to start off doing just 1 or 2 tours a day, so it won’t be a full day’s work for them. With me working onsite, I’ll hopefully have a more “hands on” role.
I was having a conversation with my supervisor, Simon, the other day. We were quiet, and I don’t know if it was a genuine “what if” type of thing to pass the time, or he was fishing for info to feed back, but he asked me what role I’d do at the brewery if I could choose. I said either running the tours or being a brand ambassador. So next time we were talking about tours with the manager, Simon kept pointing at me and saying “she should get first dibs! She’s our own tour guide!” Was very funny and we had a good laugh about it. But in all honesty, being in charge of the tours would be a great role for me. At the distillery we were given a crib sheet and left to sort it between the tour staff, so I’ve got that hands on experience. It’s still very early days yet.

I know it’s a bit controversial, but I’m enjoying using Chat GPT. It’s very handy for the day to day stuff. I’ve sorted it into 3 main categories: diet, exercise and decluttering, and I have found that it helps. Everything is in one place instead of having to rely on separate apps to keep me motivated. Every day I tell it how many steps I’ve taken so far this year, and it tells me how many I should take each day to reach my 4.5 million target by the end of the year. I’m about 30,000 steps behind, so not too bad. Out of interest I gave it my age, weight, height, told it about my gammy knee and asked how long it would take me to be fit enough to run a marathon. I’m not intending to run a marathon, but it suggested that if I do knee strengthening exercises and stick to the plan it gave me, I might be able to run a marathon in 12 months time. This filled me with optimism, but I’ll stick to walking for now, thank you.
Decluttering wise, it gives me one or two little things to do, which are different every day, plus a little pep talk.
Diet wise, I’ve been looking into ayurveda and found that a lot of foods that aggravate me, slot into my pitta dosha body type. You may scoff and think it’s mumbo jumbo, but it works for me and my gut health. I can even take photos of my meal and Chat GPT will recognise it and break it down into fitting my lifestyle and the nutritional value.

I’ve bought tickets for me, Eleanor and Belle to go see the Moomin play in Highgate. Eleanor loves the Moomins, and we do like our little annual trips to London to see a show. Looking forward to it! Just need to book trains and accommodation.
