Tina Fey and Paul Rudd get tricked into acting in a movie that can't decide whether it's a dark comedy or a bitterly funny drama, probably on the promise that they'd get to work with Tina Fey and Paul Rudd. Both play stupifyingly self-absorbed people who try to be charmingly offhanded (read: Paul Rudd schtick, vaguely assholish nice guy) and charmingly self-deprecating (read: Tina Fey schtick, vaguely bitter nice lady). It's like watching a blind woman dance on the edge of a cliff except not a cartoon, so it's not funny. Things work out in the end because the writer gave up and shoehorned a happiness out of bitter, bitter tears. Feels as "udderly" forced as that moment the cow gives birth. Ba-dum-ching!
