Last Friday went Crabbing with my buddy. Had to ride to south end of lake on rough water. North wind blowing made the ride down slow and hard on the back. But, we finally got there to find our spot loaded with boats. They were shrimping with cast nets. So we just got in the middle and started crabbing. We caught about 30 of the biggest blue crabs you ever saw. Not to many shrimp though. They caught a lot of shrimp but had bait. So the trip back was much better and lake was calmer. Boiled up the crabs and feasted Friday evening. Saturday, to tired for anything. Getting old I guess. So went to Grand daughters birthday party Sat. afternoon. Ate some cake and a cupcake. To much sugar for me. But my energy level hit a wall about 2 hours afterwards. Sugar does that to me so I try hard to stay away from it. Sunday morning men’s prayer breakfast. I went and cooked for that @ 7 am. Then Sunday school and church services. All was very good.
Sat. night LSU played the best game I have seen in a long time. Beat Ole Miss with good defense. Really a good football game. Luv me some football. Then last night Saints put it on Packers on National TV. Another good game.
So all is well on the farm. Not planting a fall garden. I am the only one who eats turnip greens and mustard greens. They are cheap in the stores and already washed when you buy them. Great 3 day weekend. Now for some deer hunting. Got it all ready just need to get on the stand. Hoping for a hog too. Got a few roosters to put in the freezer for some gumbo this winter. Maybe a duck or two also. Llama’s doing good. Baby llama “PAIL” is running all over the farm. Her mom and dads name is Jack and Jill. Git it?
