Had a second ultrasound yesterday afternoon. I had a couple of small cysts on my ovaries and a small fibroid in my uterus at the first ultrasound. Yesterday, the cysts were resolved and the fibroid remained the same. She mentioned that the fibroid is not bulging and it has likely been present for some time. As long as it remains the same and isn’t causing me any discomfort it’s not harming anything. It’s very small, just less than a cm. My progesterone level is completely normal and all is well there.
What we did discover is that my husband had a low count during his SA. Although the count was low, the other factors were healthy. She recommended a repeat of the test to confirm the result.
Moving forward she would like for me to have an HSG to make sure that my tubes are clear of obstructions. She also recommended that we have a consult with a local Reproductive Endocrinologist. In the event that my husbands sperm count remains low at recount she said we might wish to consider IUI.
Our plan moving forward is to complete the tests in order to be armed with as much knowledge as possible. We’d like to have a consult with the RE just to establish a relationship and ask the questions we have. Most of those questions center around success rate, cost, and the procedure itself.
As we are going through the process of finishing up tests and having consults I’m feeling much better. I had been very worried that I had missed my opportunity for children. Now it seems like the news is fairly good. So, we’ll keep trying the old fashioned way for now and we’ll start planning for the future.
