Something bad... in Life and Thoughts

I’ve done a bad thing. And I don’t know how to make it right.
Okay, I didn’t actually do it, but I nearly did it. And was caught.
Months later, but still caught. Nothing actually happened, so I’m not lying when I say it’s nothing and it didn’t happen.
But I am lying in saying that it wasn’t me. Because it was. But nothing came of it. And that’s the main thing… Right?
