I’ve kind of recently gotten really back into reading. I never really stopped, however, I wasn’t making it a complete point to read at least once a day. I set my 2024 challenge goal to read 50 books by the end of the year. So far, I have read 8 books this year. Usually, I can speed through a book if I really like it, and I have done that with most of the books I have already read. I don’t really have a specific genre that I prefer, I just like a good book! The books that I have finished, to date are as follows … with my rating …

  1. Wings of Snow (Fae of Snow & Ice #3) - 4/5
  2. A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR #1) - 3/5
  3. Hooked (Never After #1) - 4/5
  4. Released: Conversations on the Eve of Freedom - 2/5
  5. The Inmate - 3/5
  6. A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOTAR #2) - 4/5
  7. Crowns of Ice (Fae of Snow & Ice #4) 4/5
  8. Blossom in Winter - 2/5

I really have tried to get into the ACOTAR series … and I just can’t. I have been reading book #3 for like a month. I also struggled with the first 2 as well … So I think this series will be shelved for me, and book #3 will go on my Did Not Finish (DNF) shelf. Everyone on BookTok and alot of my friends have gone on and on and on about this series and how amazing it is, and for me, its just … slow and meh.

The Fae of Snow & Ice series was a hit for me. I really enjoyed all 4 books and read through them usually in a day or two. I mean, they are cheesy and could have been written better, but it was a good read for sure.

I want to finish the Never After series. It’s like a retelling of Disney stories, but dark, and the villain comes out on top .. Hooked was really good!!!

Last year, I read the Fourth Wing books, and absolutely loved them. I am SOOOO looking forward to the rest of the series. I also read Haunting Adeline … and it was fantastic, however, I haven’t been able to read Hunting Adeline yet, because Haunting was such a major mind fuck, that it really messed with me. If you’re looking to read it, read the trigger warnings and take caution to them, especially if you’re a parent or have been in any type of abuse situation.

I’m currently reading Does It Hurt? which is by the same author that wrote Haunting Adeline. I didn’t realize it when I started it, but now that I know, it makes so much more sense and how dark it is. I’m about 200 pages in. It’s also a dark book, with trigger warnings.

I don’t really know how I am going to keep this book updated yet. I don’t know if I’m going to do like book reviews on it, or just like quick little updates when I finish a book. I guess we will see as I finish books. I may wait and do 2 or 3 updates at a time … I don’t know!

Do you read? If so, what are you reading right now? What are some of your all time favorite books? I tend to find myself reading books with at least a little spice, so spice doesn’t bother me! What books do you HATE? Are you doing the reading challenge on goodreads? Are you doing your own reading challenge?! Let me know! I’d love to connect with other readers!!
