I am your basic hermit. If there’s enough food, I can stay home. I have 13 windows and a marvelous view, so I don’t feel as if I am in a cave. I love solitary activities and am not bored.

So, why am I trying to find things to do outside?

I just think it’s probably not emotionally/mentally healthy to spend so MUCH time alone, indoors. Humans are meant to be social animals. I am NOT very good at it, even at this age, but I am trying.

So, I went to the library - I found out yesterday that they have various activities there. Clearly I am not the only person in the dark as I was the only person there for the senior games time. OK… I’ll try at 11 a.m. tomorrow - adult games time.

I’ve gone to a few Meet-Up activities - I am clearly the oldest one there. They’re alright, but the local ones seem to center around bar type activities - karaoke, after work drink, etc. Uh, not my speed.

I’d gone to a couple of activities in San Diego and found one with women my age. I am looking forward to returning to that one next time I am in that city.

There’s always tomorrow.

Well, I tried again on Tuesday - 11 a.m. I was the only one there for the games. I’ll try their Friday movies, but clearly there’s no interest in the games…
