Looks like I’m back Monday, the head director just gave me a call. I can actually head into my class tomorrow and do a few things to prep which would be nice to simply go in and refresh myself since it’s been over 3 weeks (and since I haven’t actually RAN afterschool yet… just the summer.) Pre-school starts on Monday as well so I want to make sure that I have all of that done and figured out.
At the end of the month my grandparents are moving into their condo… it’s kind of strange to think that they’re going to try to continue having the family gatherings in such a small place. With that said James and I are hoping to buy a bigger place next summer, we will be taking over the family traditions of hosting since my grandparents are getting too old to keep them up. My parents also live in a tiny condo where having people over is cramped as heck, my aunt and uncle have a good sized home which does great for entertaining but they never host any dinners. They don’t enjoy it and it is a lot of work, James loves cooking, he’s rather amazing at it and said he would happily do Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter ect at our place. Unfortunately right now our place is too small to have more than two extra people over for dinner.
I really wish we could just jump and move right now but with the strike and us still owing on our line of credit from when James went to school this year we can’t afford it. We need a bigger place, for Dante’s sake, for our sanity. Dante doesn’t have a playroom, his stuff has taken up the family room, he doesn’t have a yard, and even the green space that we have here isn’t suitable since you never know if you’re going to find a syringe or something else in the gardens.
I’m hoping for a yard large enough for a pool, even if it’s an above ground one that we can set up for the summer… I want a house that I can kick my child outside to play in his sandbox and run around and not have to worry about anything happening to him. I want a house where I can give him a playroom and have my own living room/family room that doesn’t look like a toy store.
patience.
