We spend the weekend in Devon with mother. I had to do a little PC support since her monitor died. It turned out that the power supply for her screen had exploded. It was very old, much older than the PC, and it seemed the right thing to do to get a new one. So we bought a 23” monitor and it’s much better than her old one. The boy has also worked out how to email his grandma from his iPad now, so they have e-dialogue. I also took advantage of my father’s old workshop and built a pirate chest while I was there, from scrap wood that was lying around. It’s quite nice. I still have to make a lid.

At the weekend mother showed me an original, hand-painted Disney cell that my father must have bought when he was in San Francisco in the early 60s. According to the stamp on the back, it was used in an original Disney production. My aunt found it amongst my father’s old things. She says it’s probably not worth anything because there would have been a lot of them. I don’t care because we wouldn’t sell it anyway. Mother is going to have it reframed. I’m sure I have seen some other Disney cells with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs artwork, but I have no idea where it is. They were much smaller.
