We both got up in time to go to 9 o’clock church today… hooray! I’m pretty sure it’s the first time we’ve made it to church in a month - the last two weeks I was feeling fine, but John was down for the count with his abscess, and I just can’t walk far enough to get myself to the church any more… sucks, but there it is. If he (or someone else) can’t take me, I don’t get to go. When Reverent Carol asked how we were this morning we told her that I’m stuck and asked if maybe there might be someone who wants to be a good samaritan and give me a ride to church so I can go when John doesn’t feel up to it… they would literally only have to go five minutes out of their way because we’re only a mile from the church, it’s not as if I was asking for a 10-mile ride. Biggest problem is, the 9am service that we prefer is also the smallest. There are somewhere around 20 people there for it, and today there were only eight! So that’s not a lot of options for lift-giving… if I had to, I could go to the traditional ten o’clock service, but we both vastly prefer contemporary. Said hello to some people while we were on the way out of the door and they were coming in for the main service, and off we went.
After church we went to the animal aid thrift store so I could visit the kittens in their adoption center… turned out they only had one little girl kitty left this weekend - they’ve been running an adoption special and basically giving them away, so she was the only one left today… but she was adorable. A trueborn hoolikitten - they said that she’d had her brother with her, and yesterday they escaped from the adoption center and started running around the store! lol If we didn’t have four furry masters already, I would have taken her in a flash because somebody like her would play with Tessica and keep her from harassing her older sisters so much. Or else they’d just be twice as destructive! lol
Then we stopped at Walmart for a few more groceries, and we came home for lunch - but when John tried to turn on his computer it was dead as a dodo! There’s been a ton of storms this week and he thinks the power supply got fried. Mine is fine, so who knows… We had to turn around and drive down to Palm Beach to get him another one, and he’s trying to put his computer back together… hope it works, or it’s going to be REALLY expensive and we just plain don’t have the money! Fifty dollars was bad enough… EDIT - Yes, it was the power supply… he’s still playing around with the wiring, but it fired up successfully. So no more money need be spent on this particular crisis. Thank goodness!
