Being a lazy updater and definitely a bit behind on reading. Ah, well. I’ve been busy eating weird foods (and they haven’t been making me ill! Huzzah!).

Every year I go to the fair, I try to take a picture of everything I eat. I don’t know why. It’s rare that I actually do anything with them and I’m not part of the instagram craze of photographing everything you eat and sharing it with the world. But this year, since I’m so excited to be able to eat ALL THE THINGS, I’ll try to do food entries :P Get ready for lots of photos of Aaron and me making weird faces with food!

On Tuesday we started our day with Cinnie Smith’s cinnamon rolls and milk.

I think maybe Aaron’s snorting his milk here? They are fantastic cinammon rolls, especially considering they’re mass produced in a weird fair kitchen!

Cheese curds!

Aaron looks frightened of all the grease he’s about to consume. We’re trying to eat our way through a list of traditional fair foods recommended by Andrew Zimmern.

ERMERGEHRD! Prime rib tacos!

Surprisingly tasty and messy. Also, I’ve given up on making my hair look remotely normal in the humidity. It wants to stick up like duck fluff, so I let it :P

Farm Handwich (pulled pork, french fries with a spicy, pimento cheese sauce) and blueberry, basil lemonade

Both were delicious! The lemonade was possibly the best lemonade I’ve had at the fair. And I loved the weird cheese sauce on the sandwich.

French fries! And ketchup!

And my mother!

Churros

They were tasty but a little disappointing. They had hollow centers for putting frosting into (why???) but I got mine without. As a result, they were lacking that tender, spongy middle part that makes churros so delicious.

S’mores beer

And a marshmallow!

A pleasant, dark beer.I have no idea how to talk about beer. I liked it and that’s all that matters, right? :P. The beer-soaked marshmallow was oddly good.

And that’s all we have for Day 1! Considering we were only there for like 4 hours, I think we managed to eat quite a bit! Day 2 Aaron and I packed away even more! Mmm…weird food. If the rain clears up, we’re thinking about bringing my 92 year old grandmother today. Oh, boy…
