This Judy hasn’t got time for extra syllables.
Jude will do.
Every day filled with life’s necessities,
and pleasures.
Bike rides to the village
Drives to see children
Grandchildren to bake with
Gentlemen calling.
A well-ordered but comfortably rustic home
full of treasures you are welcome to borrow,
a few you can have.
Presents for the neighbor kids
and tea on the modest lawn.
Capable hands that can fix the small woes
of an old home.
The world may fall to pieces,
we may all succumb to rot,
but Jude is indestructible.
