to all the hurting women in my feelings

I cannot express the sorrow I have for all who have experienced forms of harassment or assault. It is not your fault, you are not alone. You are not disgusting, you are beautiful. I hate the men that make fun of your body and feelings, the minor details of your face, complexions you have no control of. The jokes that I am a “snowflake” to. The words that make me “soft”. The men in the Instagram comments constantly hating women: shaming the bodies that gave life to them, perceiving only with eyes of lust.. The men on the bus that stand too close, brushing against you, but not “enough” in a manner to call out otherwise you’d be “overreacting”. The teenage boys begging “you’d do it if you loved me” or pleading “she was asking for it”. How normalized cat-calling has become on the internet. Children acting many years past their age due to society and social media. I hate the neglectful fathers, the preying uncles, and God bless all the men out there who have their morals. It is not always men or all men, but some. That “some” keeps women fearing for their lives, children feeling violated and confused, young girls to hate themselves, changing all they can to be “loved”. My heart goes out to all victims, and prayers for society to improve.
