Conversation with the boy last night...
Boy - "Guess what's the most important thing in the world to me."
Me - "Daddy?"
Boy - "No, but very close, it's family."
Me - "Yes, family is very important."
Pause
Boy - "And after that it's Loom Bands."
A long list of "important things" followed which included Beast Quest books, Hotwheels cars, skateboarding, and much more. Surprisingly, food and drink was quite a long way down the list, and I don't think shelter was mentioned at all. It's good to know however that I'm above loom bands and hotwheels on his list.
I know I keep banging on about it, but our allotment is doing super well this year. I'm so glad we decided to keep it. We did think about letting it go after last season. Yesterday I picked about 2kg of French beans, a couple of courgettes, sweetcorn, loads more raspberries, some tomatoes, and some celery. The boy and the dragon also came home with about 1kg of blackberries, so I made some jam last night. I'm going to make some more raspberry jam this evening. The last lot was so good.
Everyone is writing about Robin Williams' death yesterday. I suppose it is the irony. He always appeared to be having such a good time. Who knew what darkness lay beneath what he let us see. And today brought the news of Lauren Bacall's death. She was very old. Still sad, but somehow more acceptable. She never stopped being beautiful, even when she got very old.
I think I'm going to have a go at writing an Android App. I've been reading about how it's done. Looks fun, and if I write my intention down here, who knows, I may actually do it.
