Thank you all SO much for all of your happy notes and support. You are all SO AWESOME and make me feel very loved :)
I’ve been doing fun stuff since I got my good news and eating all the things! My doctor gave me the OK to pretty much live like a normal person, so I’ve been enjoying that to the fullest.
I’ve been eating so much wonderful food. Friday night we ordered good delivery pizza and after not having it for over 6 months it was pretty much the most delicious thing ever. Saturday we had a mini celebration with Aaron’s mom and brother at an Indian restaurant. I missed Indian food soooo much! And Aaron’s mom was so sweet. She brought a bottle of bubbly and her own fancy glasses. It was pretty adorable. She had also told our waiter that we were celebrating my remission and he was sweet enough to bring us out a free celebratory dessert at the end of the meal. Definitely a good night :) Yesterday we went to Olive Garden for lunch, which isn’t my favorite, but Aaron’s brother and his wife wanted to go there so we went. But I ate SALAD!!!!! Om nom nom. I missed green leafy things. Then, Aaron and I went to Ginger Hop for a late dinner after a long day because I wanted something Asian. I had cream cheese wontons which I have been craving for a really long time. And a fried rice dish with medium rare tuna and fresh, grilled pineapple. It was so incredibly delicious. We’ve been a bit extravagant but there are so many foods I need to eat :P
My doctor also gave me the OK to go the state fair. I am so excited! Last year I didn’t get to go as much as I wanted because we were having a heat wave and the state fair in hot weather is just plain awful. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to go this year and that was bumming me out. But I can go! And eat weird foods!! WHEEE!!!!
Aaron and I have also been practice hiking because we’re both pretty out of shape from lack of activity and such and we want to be able to do this 10 mi hike on our vacation, half of which is uphill. We’ve gone on what were supposed to be two mini 2.5ish mi hikes and both times got lost, so ended up doing 5-6 mi each time. Both involved a lot of uphill stuff and we were both huffing and puffing at times, but neither hike exhausted us. I was concerned because the bleomycin damaged my lungs and I’m not sure how fast or even if they’ll fully recover. However, even though I definitely got winded and maybe took a little longer than Aaron to recover from some of the uphill bits, it really didn’t feel like more than me just being out of shape to a normal degree. Breathing never hurt and my exercise-induced asthma didn’t kick in, so I’d count that as a success! It just feels so good to be going outside and being active!
I’m happy and doing well. Still anxious, and I will be for a long time, but I can feel months worth of tension slowly slipping away :)
