HC’s fingers are soooo long! The tips of his fingers are SOOO teeny tiny that I’m not even going to bother trying to cut his claws. Instead he’s all mittened up haha!
He’s soo tiny! I just can’t get over how tiny he is! I kept saying he was so teeny tiny to the nurses at the hospital and all of them were like “he was almost 9lbs that’s a good sized baby!” So I’d have to tell them “compared to his brothers at birth he is a midget!” Get this! He wears newborn diapers and they fit him perfect!!! NEVER have I had a baby who could fit their fat little booty into a newborn diaper!! Infact I didn’t even bother with newborn diapers at all. I just had trouble buttoning the crotches of the newborn onesies because the size 1 diapers hung all the way down to his knees when I got home from the hospital. So I asked mom if she could pick up a bag of newborns just for haha’s to see if they fit better. Sure enough, they fit!
Oh and did I mention he’s in newborn clothes? Not only is he in them, but they are BIG on him! I had a few pairs of newborn shorts that the boys wore the first 2 weeks of life and they fit the boys waist perfectly. Those same shorts are BIG on HC! Birdie picked up a few newborn onesies for me when I got pregnant and I just threw them into the closet thinking “I’ll just save these as a gift for if someone at church gets pregnant” but I have actually had to use them because all the 3m clothes that the boys wore the first weeks of their life are HUGE! Not just big and baggy but ridiculously HUGE! Infact the newborn clothes are big and baggy on him! The pjs I always bring for the boys to wear in the hospital are actually newborn. But they are the super stretchy kind and they have the fold over mittens on the sleeves. Both KJ and Lil B were SUPER snug in them and I was actually considering not even bothering bringing them to the hospital for HC but Hubby was like “you’re not gonna bring the froggy or monkey pjs? Don’t you want him to look all cute like his brothers?” So he kinda guilt tripped me into bringing them. When I actually put them on him in the hospital he swam in them! The matching hats wouldn’t even stay on his head because they were so big.
Most people would be like, “yeah, a newborn baby fits in newborn clothes. So what?” But being that I have never had a baby small enough that they not only fit in newborn clothes but they are BIG on them it’s a whole new world for me. AND NEWBORN DIAPERS! My boys wore size 1 diapers in the hospital!!! Neither of them actually EVER wore newborn diapers! So I can’t help but be excited about the fact that I have a baby who is small enough to fit in them! At the moment poor HC has a very limited wardrobe due to the fact that I don’t buy newborn clothes for my babies. At a month old my babies are in 3-6m clothes! Today, mom is coming up so she can drive me to HC’s doctor appointment and we need to stop at Walmart on the way home to get a few things and I think I’m actually going to pick up a few more onesies for him and atleast 2 pairs of pants in newborn because this week it’s supposed to be in the 60’s and rainy and I honestly don’t think he’ll be growing out of newborn clothes any time soon. He’s sooooo tiny!!!!!!!!! :)
