Babies are so cute right at the 12 month mark! I am really enjoying this age. I love the little curls Miles has in front. Cody didn't have those so I wonder if he's eventually going to have curly hair one day. So anyways, at 12 months Miles is crawling around like an expert these days. He pulls up and cruises constantly too. One of his favorite things to do is play with his brother or just simply look out the window with him and watch the construction workers do their thing.
Miles is still a very loud child as in he will screech loudly out of the blue, yell things like "yayayaya!" and he cries over little things like getting dressed or getting a new diaper because he just wants to go-go-go. He has been eating table food since he was 7.5 months old and he tends to eat quite a lot. His favorites are fruit, especially blueberries and grapes but he also loves bread products. He won't eat much meat or veggies yet which is something I need to work on. When he is not hungry or done eating he will start whipping food off his tray and onto the floor and/or crying and reaching for me. He spends a lot of time crawling around playing with random toys in the family room. He will roll trucks around, scatter blocks and dance to the many musical toys we have. Ever since he learned to crawl he has needed to be held way less which is so nice because some days he would barely let me put him down and my back would be so sore.
Miles has 3-4 bottles a day at this point, 2 which are breast milk and 2 whole milk, although usually most of them are a mixture. He sleeps through the night and has been for about 7 weeks now. He goes to bed around 7:30pm and wakes up at 7:30am. He wakes up now and then for a quick soother pop in but that's it. He naps twice a day with no problems for at least 1.5 hours. He has his 12 month check up and needles at the doctor today but I would guess he is 28.5 inches and 21.5lbs right now which is a bit on the small side but still within a normal range. Cody was 23lbs and 31 inches at this age which doesn't sound that different but it is a pretty big difference at this age meaning while Miles is around the 25th percentile at this age, Cody at this age was in the 75th percentile.
What else? Ummmm... Miles loves to shake his head, clap, wave, dance and give me big sloppy kisses lol. He can say Mama and Dada and started saying "hi" the other day :) He wears size 3 diapers and mostly 12 month clothes and loves going for walks in the stroller. He will let someone other than me watch and hold him now but only if I am not around. He definitely needs to be watched carefully right now as I have caught him sitting beside the cat dish munching away on cat food more than once and he once tumbled down a set of 3 stairs before I could catch him. He still is afraid of the bath so I have to give him a quick shower every couple of days. Oh and he has 8 teeth, is very drooly and still spits up sometimes which is pretty gross when you're out and he does it unexpectedly. Some of his favorite things right now are blueberry pancakes, his Mommy, getting into trouble like pulling wipes out of the box one by one, playing with Cody, swinging in the swing at the park and petting our cats. I love how he is starting to understand more and more like when I ask him if he wants milk, ask him for kisses and ask him to stop doing something.
So yeah, that's what Miles is like these days. He cries a lot more over little things than Cody did at this age but he definitely smiles and laughs a lot too. Cody walked when he was 13.5 months so it will be interesting to see when Miles starts walking. I would guess around the same time even though he crawled way later than Cody did (Cody started rolling at 7 months and crawling at 9 months while Miles didn't start to crawl until he was almost 11 months). And while I am in no rush for him to walk, it is definitely adorable once they do :)
